Subject: be right back – recharging 🔋
By the time you’re reading this, I’ll be lounging poolside with a half-empty frozen mezcal margarita in my hand.
No devices. No client appointments. No schedule.
When we started planning The Rest & Success Code (which was AMAZING btw), I knew I’d need to take a rest break afterwards to recharge my batteries.
For many years, I believed I wasn’t capable of doing BIG things in my business.
I’d see other people doing big things and feel envious of their ability to do so much… and then I’d beat myself up for not being enough.
Ya know what?
That was a load of janky mindset bullshit!
You can absolutely do big things in your business – even if you’re low energy, easily overwhelmed, or otherwise disinclined to do a lot of work (aka lazy).
The secret to lazy success?
You have to plan for rest.
Honestly, that’s it.
You can do big things IF you proactively plan for rest – and then protect that plan like your life depends on it.
This is what it looks like!
I decided I needed a two week vacation after The Rest & Success Code to recover and recharge.
That’s why I’m writing you this email on April 29th. (And when I’m finished writing this one, I’m going to write next week’s message too – the magic of batching!)
I want to stay connected with you while I’m away, but not at the expense of my time for rest.
So I did a lot of planning, a little bit of prep work, and voila! The business keeps moving forward while I’m recharging my batteries.
I really want you to know that you can do this too.
I am not smarter or more capable than you – I’ve just mastered the art of PLANNING FOR REST!
If you don’t add time for rest into your schedule in advance, it won’t happen.
And you will burn out… and feel bad about yourself… and unsubscribe from my emails because you’ll find my “Hey I’m on vacation!” messages REALLY irritating.
I don’t want that to happen.
Here’s what I’d love for you to do…
Open your calendar – like, right now – and look at your schedule for the rest of this year.
Do you have significant rest breaks already on the calendar?
If yes, amazing! Hit reply and tell me what you have planned.
If no, it’s okay. You can do it right now!
Seriously, pick at least one week during the summer and one week during the fall to take a rest break. You don’t even have to leave your house! You just need time to not work.
Once you’ve done it, hit reply, and tell me which weeks you’ll be resting!
Your soul – and your bank account – will thank you for it. Promise.
Here’s to your rest and success! 😴 💰 💕
