Subject: Wanna peek in my journal?
I’m not a fan of New Year Resolutions. Or big, audacious annual goals.
Totally get that they work for some people — but I find them to be arbitrary and rigid, a guaranteed recipe for personal failure.
Years ago, I decided to set intentions instead of goals. I also agreed to give myself permission to change my intentions at any point during the year for any reason of my choosing.
This system makes me feel curious, inspired, and motivated to move towards the changes I want to create in my life and business.
Wanna see the intentions I’m focusing on this year?
In case you can’t decipher my handwriting…
#1 Don’t compare yourself to other entrepreneurs — this goes on my list every year… because comparisonitis is real and never goes away.
#2 Reduce the noise — spend less time on social media in general, curate your feed and inbox so you only see content from people who make you feel happy and inspired — everyone else gets muted!
#3 Take more imperfect action — show up authentically, even when it doesn’t feel “perfect”. Be prolific and consistent (you’ll be my accountability buddies on this one).
#4 STOP DOING EVERY SINGLE THING YOU DON’T LIKE DOING! I upped my outsourcing game significantly in 2020, but this year, I’m doubling-down on delegation with dedicated determination.
#5 Use more alliteration!
Everything I do this year will reference back to these intentions… until I decide to change them… because I’m an adult and can do what I want!
For now, these are the changes I need to make to feel better in my mind and body. The better I feel, the more energy and motivation I’ll have to move my businesses forward.
What intentions do you have for yourself this year?
Reply back and let me know… I’d love to share the intentions you share (no names attached) in my next email! It’s inspiring to see what we’re all committing to doing for ourselves.
Here’s to feeling good in 2021,
Maegan
