Like the ostrich, I excel at burying my head in the sand.
It’s peaceful. I like not thinking about things that stress me out.
Ignorance, as they say, is bliss.
Unfortunately, my stress eventually reaches max capacity, and any feelings of ignorant bliss evaporate like water on hot asphalt.
And, of course, I choose this moment to try to solve my problems.
Waiting to solve your problems until you’re stressed is like going to the grocery store when you haven’t eaten in twelve hours. You’re going to be overwhelmed, cranky, and incapable of making healthy decisions. #StressDoritos
You should not attempt to solve the problems causing your stress when you’re feeling stressed out.
My wiser self knows the best thing to do when you’re feeling stressed is to infuse your body with joy—simple, pure, undiluted joy.
Joy is the antidote to stress.
The next time you hit a wall of burnout, resist the urge to make drastic changes to your business or spend hundreds of dollars on quick-fix solutions. Adding complicated and costly tasks to your to-do list will keep you trapped in the stress cycle.
