📣 Big news! 

My newsletter is getting a glow-up. 

I’ve been writing these emails since 2020. It’s been a meandering experiment, and I’ve loved (almost) every second of the journey. 

Four years later, I finally feel confident enough to take my newsletter to a bigger stage. (More on that soon.) 

Under the tutelage of Tarzan Kay, the internet’s only consent-based newsletter expert, I’ve elevated this platform from “Maegan’s little email list” to… 

Deeply Rested is a weekly newsletter that helps people doing good work in the world take good care of themselves. 

Don’t worry, nothing is going to change for you. 

You’ll continue receiving a weekly email about things like: 

→ recovering from burnout
→ deprogramming from hustle culture
→ slowing down + opting out of urgency
→ self-expression and creative intuition
→ finally becoming deeply rested  

I want this newsletter to be a place on the internet that makes you feel better—a place that inspires you to choose rest over hustle and honesty over perfectionism. 

During my Winter sabbatical, I realized I can no longer tolerate conversations that feel dishonest, performative, or insincere. 

I’m done listening to people on the internet who aren’t being honest about their lived experiences, especially when those people are trying to sell me something. 🙄

I’m learning how to show up more authentically. 

Every week, I’m committed to peeling back another layer, showing you the genuine parts of me that are struggling and learning and succeeding and failing. 

These emails are my practice ground for truthtelling. 

Honesty is an antidote to burnout. 

By honoring ourselves and sharing more truthfully in our businesses, we stand a real chance of dismantling the systems that cause harm and contribute to our chronic exhaustion. 

Today, I want to share a few honest truths with you. 

📚 I read 10x as much smutty fiction as I do nonfiction. Nothing brings me more joy than reading fantasy romance novels (like Outlander and A Court of Thorns and Roses) while soaking in my inflatable hot tub. I used to be so ashamed of this. Not anymore!

🔮 I’m a grounded, practical person who loves magic. Bring me all of your woo. In Human Design, I’m a 5/1 Projector. I use psychedelics and Oracle cards. The more magic I find, the more in love I fall with my life. Here’s a podcast where I share more about this. 

🫠  I have absolutely no idea where I’m going. I’ve abandoned the belief that I need to follow a plan, opting instead to listen to my intuition, trusting that the winding path I’m following is taking me exactly where I’m meant to go. 

In this podcast episode, I share the balancing act of pivoting and trusting the unknown while making enough money to pay the bills. It’s one of my most honest interviews to date.
