I love thinking about my business.
Taking a long walk, getting my hands dirty in the veggie garden, chopping onions for dinner… These are all opportunities to blissfully observe the business ideas bouncing around the back of my mind.
My business brings me joy! If it makes me feel energized and inspired to think about it when I’m not working, I’m gonna think about it.
But ya know what?
I also love not thinking about my business.
This past weekend was definitely a not-thinking-about-work-weekend.
My sweet friend Violet is moving across the country (😭) – so we had a going away weekend to celebrate our friendship and wish her well on her new adventure.
Work didn’t cross my mind once.
I even deleted the Gmail and Voxer apps from my phone before I left to ensure I wasn’t interrupted.
We watched movies, went out to dinner, and celebrated with our favorite activity… creating (and eating) delicious charcuterie spreads.
Just look at this beauty…
Being fully present for this experience with Violet brought me so much joy… and that charcuterie spread brought me so much pleasure 🤣
It made me reflect (once I was back on Monday) on how much I love having the freedom to choose when I think about my business and when I totally disconnect.
It’s the magic of having clear boundaries, a magnificent support team, and recurring revenue streams.
You can walk away and not worry about a damn thing. MAGIC!
