Subject: I have a question for you
I have a question for you…
Where do you go to create your best content?Ā
I’m not interested in how you create your best content. I want to know where you go when you need to feel inspired, motivated, and focused.Ā
I’m neck-deep in a huge website overhaul for my therapy center. I hired an incredible designer to create our new site (more on that later) but it’s up to me to supply the content.Ā
And there is a lot of contentĀ š³
Iāve been incubating a big vision for several yearsā¦ a vision that includes 20 unique service pages covering almost every presenting concern that lands in our inbox.Ā
For months, Iāve felt daunted by this self-imposed-mega-project.Ā
Each time I sat down to write, Iād get distracted, anxious, and overwhelmed by desire to watch Outlander instead.Ā
During one particularly frustrating afternoon, I decided to make a list detailing how Iāve completed mega-projects in the past.Ā
As I scratched anxiously away on my notepad, a clear picture emerged, and I knew exactly what I needed to do.Ā
I was surprised to see that the solution had nothing to do with technique or strategy; it had everything to do with my environment.Ā
- You had long stretches of uninterrupted timeĀ
- You were in a different locationĀ
- You had something beautiful to look atĀ
- You were surrounded by things that brought you pleasure
The reality was I would never finish this project in my normal work environment.Ā
I needed space, quiet, peacefulness, and room to breathe.Ā
So I booked myself a two night stay at a comfortable hotel overlooking the river, and I finished the damn thing.Ā
(Iāll be posting some pictures on my Instagram later this week, if you want to see my view.)Ā
Sensitive folks need the right environment to do their best work.Ā
For me, thatās views of nature, soft blankets, and solitude (thank you, airplane mode!).Ā
What about you? What is your ideal environment for creating great content? I want to be inspired!Ā
Warmly,
Maegan
